I've been very slow on checking other people's gallery 
I agree this wouldn't work as well in BW- you can sense the texture much better in colour. Personally, I would've darkened the level a bit as it would create a different atmosphere and enhance the green in the photo. I do find the resolution too big- I'm running 1600x1200 and barely got the whole image on my monitor. This would've been perfect image for last week's Photo Friday Challenge: Abandoned (do a search on Photo Friday-).
